PATIENT INFORMATION

APPOINTMENTS

Appointments can be made using HotDoc. Click the HotDoc Green Icon below to book your appointment. A normal  consult is 15 minutes. Half hour appointments can be booked for those needing a longer consultation or care plan. Urgent appointments will be fitted in as soon as practical.

NEW PATIENTS MUST FILL OUT THE BELOW FORM PRIOR TO THEIR APPOINTMENT.

Subject to availability and triaged on a case by case basis.

RESULTS / RECALLS

It is IMPORTANT to follow up pathology/radiological results with your Doctor. Please make an appointment to discuss results with your Doctor. Reception staff do not have access to your medical records and cannot give out results. Torrens Clinic has a policy for recalls. Your treating doctor will mark on your notes if you need to be recalled for further testing. Your may receive a phone call or an sms message via HotDoc if you need to be recalled. FEES

Fee structure is in line with the Medicare Schedule, this changes annually or as determined by doctor. The independant contract Doctors set their own fees which will be explained at time of booking. 

A Fee is charged  for Telephone Consults and Face to Face Consults payable at the time of service for all Private Non Concession Card Holders. This will be fully  implemented as of 1st January 2023. 

Payment at time of service is required with credit card number over the phone for Telephone Consults. In clinic Face to Face Consults can be paid with credit card, cash or debit cards.. Your rebate will be paid back into your account on the same day via Medicare. If  a procedure is  done on the day of consultation the gap may be higher in line with the eligible item number.

 

Note that not all Pensioners and Health Care Card Holders will be bulk billed. Please check with reception staff. Each doctor  and Independant Contract Doctors have their own policy. 

TELEPHONING YOUR DOCTOR

The Doctor will take Urgent calls relating to you or your family's health. If they are seeing patients when you call there may be some delay. Always call 000 for medical emergencies. Otherwise we may need to call you back at the end of consulting. 

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

A consult is generally required for scripts Requests for long term scripts can be made by phone. 24 hours notice is required. A $20.00 fee payable on the day over the phone with credit card or at time of collection applies for prescriptions without consultation.

IMMUNISATIONS

Immunisation can be provided by our Nurse following a short appointment with the doctor. 

PATIENT PRIVACY 

We operate a computerised medical records and management system. Access to medical records is restricted to our medical staff and our system is protected by appropriate security systems. Doctors and Staff at Torrens Clinic are committed to the Privacy of your medical records Results are only given to patient unless an arrangement has been made to give to another person. Everyone over the age of 16 must phone for their own results

As General Practictioners we consult with and refer to a wide range of Specialists. Please feel free to raise the question of a specialist referral. Alternatively your doctor may suggest a referral to either a Public Hospital or Private Specialist, whichever is appropriate. 

PATIENT FEEDBACK

From time to time this practice invites patients to complete a questionnaire on their view of the practice and how it could be improved. These surveys are completely confidential and help us improve our services. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the care you receive from the practice we are keen to know about it. Please feel free to contact our Practice Manager Kerry on 8346 6408 if you have any problems. We believe that our problems are best dealt within the practice. Indeed , we want to know if you are concerned about any aspect of your service. AFTER HOURS

 

Home Visits are available after hours by phoning the practice number. The practice doctors cover Monday - Friday 8.am to 5.30pm
