APPOINTMENTS

An appointment system operates with 15 minutes the normal time. Urgent cases will be fitted in as soon as practical. Half hour appointments can be booked for those needing a longer consultation

FEES

Fee structure is in line with Medicare Schedule, this changes annually. For most patients there is a gap $30 to $40 Gap per consult , a discounted fee is charged if you elect to pay the consult in full and have our staff process the claim on your behalf through our EFTPOS machine. A Higher gap is charged on weekends and Public Holidays and if there is a procedure done on the day of consultation the gap will be higher. Please note that Bulk Billing is available for Pensioners, Veterans Affairs and Department of Social Security and Health Care Card holders for most of our doctors. The practice accepts most major credit cards.

IMMUNISATIONS

Immunisation can be provided by our Nurse following a short appointment with the doctor.

Doctors and Staff at Torrens Clinic are committed to the Privacy of your medical records. All information is stored safetly, results are only given to patient unless an arrangement has been made to give to another person. Everyone over the age of 18 must phone for their own results

AFTER HOURS

 

Home Visits are available after hours by phoning the practice number. The practice doctors cover Monday - Friday 8.am to 7pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm,  At other times the General Practice Locum Service is available by phoning 137 425

RECALLS

Torrens Clinic has a policy for recalls. Your treating doctor will mark on your notes if you need to be recalled for further testing. Your may receive a letter, a phone call or an sms message if you need to be recalled. 

TELEPHONING YOUR DOCTOR

The Doctor will take Urgent calls relating to you or your family's health. If they are seeing patients when you call there may be some delay. Always call 000 for medical emergencies. Otherwise we may need to call you back at the end of consulting. 

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

Prescriptions for medicine taken regularly can be obtained if your doctor has agreed to this. Requests can be made by phone or letter. It is helpful we have at least 24 hours notice in which to deal with your request. A $10.00 fee applies for prescriptions without consultation.

SPECIALIST REFERRAL

As General Practictioners we consult with and refer to a wide range of Specialists. Please feel free to raise the question of a specialist referral. Alternatively your doctor may suggest a referral to either a Public Hospital or Private Specialist, whichever is appropriate. 

PATIENT FEEDBACK

From time to time this practice invites patients to complete a questionnaire on their view of the practice and how it could be improved. These surveys are completely confidential and help us improve our services. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the care you receive from the practice we are keen to know about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or the receptionist about any problems you may have. We believe that our problems are best dealt within the practice. Indeed , we want to know if you are concerned about any aspect of your service.
